    RS232 over Internet

I'm looking for a solution to remotely program devices with serial ports.  While I know there is general availability of products like the iTach products that allow local access of the port, does anyone know of an elegant solution that I redirect a program running on a PC to the iTach across the...

    ELK Zwave as secondary controller

I posted a question in the automation forum, but realized I should have posted it here.   http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/23987-elk-zwave-secondary-controller/   Any thoughts?

    Elk Zwave - Secondary Controller

Has anyone used the ELK + Leviton VRC0P+3 as a secondary controller?  Now that I'm using my ISY as the primary for Zwave, I'm wondering if I can continue to use my ELK Zwave but place it in secondary mode.  This would allow me to use my ELK keypads to directly address thermostats.

    ISY994i Z-Wave

It's officially announced.  Universal-Devices ISY994i series is z-wave enabled!   http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/1/prweb10355651.htm   I'm anxiously awaiting my alpha release to get my hands on this solution.   Mike   P.S.> I'm a universal devices developer and dealer, thus under NDA. [Article] Universal Devices announces the ISY-994i ZS Series Z-Wave controller

CocoonTech Member (and Universal Devices developer) Mike-ma shared the announcement of Universal Devices now offering a Z-Wave controller, similar to their popular INSTEON ISY-99 controller.   The price is rather high, especially once you add support for various popular components (e.g., ELK)...

    Elk M1 and Zwave Sensors

I was reviewing the M1XSLZW instruction manual and couldn't find reference to using zwave sensors. Does anyone know if the M1 supports adding other sensors using the XSL+VRC0P+3?   There's a whole host of sensors now available (specifically from Aeon Labs) and I'm wondering if they can be used...

Various 312mhz sensors - looking for suggestions

I have a colleague that ran a business of remote monitoring and emergency management for seniors. He has a *ton* of sensors and host systems left over from his business. We're trying to re-purpose them for either another business opportunity or frankly dump them. The units are all 300 -or-...

    Insteon DIN Mount

The folks at smarthome announced a new DIN mounted dimmer for insteon. Has anyone here ever worked with DIN mounting / gang mounting switches? I did gang mounting in my basement in a previous house, it was with X10 and it was aweful performance (well - it was x10 after all)...

    Thermostat logging

Now that heating season is in full swing, I fired up my TZ45 zwave thermostats. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what is going on. The thermostats are set low but the house is very warm. Is there a log or some way I can figure out if these things are working right? The house is 5k...

    ISY99 and Elk M1

I'm trying to figure out a way to read the thermostat state, temp, etc. from the Elk M1 through the ISY99 (with Elk Module installed.) Does anyone know a workaround so I can either read or set variables so I can use them in ISY programs? It appears from my research the only way to do this is...

    RCS TZ45 - Route Z-wave?

Does anyone know if the RCS TZ45 thermostat's z-wave node will route z-wave signals? I'm not getting very good range and I'm wondering if I need some appliance modules to help route. My leviton USB stick is about 20 feet away (walking - 12 or so through walls) and is not getting a reliable...

M1 web Interface - outputs not showing up

I've been having this issue for a while and I'm finally getting around to asking if anyone has a solution to it. My M1 interface will not allow me to see outputs in an OSX browser (chrome, firefox, safari), they're jumbled up in one spot (see pix). On a PC I can see them (chrome, firefox, and IE)

    What is Alarm.com?

Perhaps it is covered here somewhere but when I do a search for alarm.com it either comes up with all postings for alarm (geez) or no postings for alarmcom as one word. Anyway... Does anyone have details about the system? What technology is it using?

    M1 w/ISY99 Programming Question

I'm using my ISY to program an output of my ELK to automate the Hot Water loop valve. I'm running into an issue when programming using on for XX time. It appears that the ELK/ISY is not respecting the most recent call and maintaining the first call. I have the loop turn on for 2 hours but am...

A little fuzzy on Z-wave installer tools

I've moved to RCS TZ45's but haven't enabled the communication yet. I've been waiting for UD to release their ISY994i zwave module to fire everything up but it's just taking too long. I've decided that I'll just go the M1 route for now so I can control and monitor all three zones (separate...

    iPad Integrated Apps

I'm currently running several applications on my iPad to control my home and would like to see what others are using. I would love to find a 'one stop' solution but haven't yet. This is what I have/use: Roomie Remote - DirectTV and Yamaha Receiver Mobilic Pro - Insteon EK Keypad - ELK M1...
