Anybody using an Omnistat with Elk M1 or Homeseer?

If I remove it from the base, when I replace it all my settings are still intact.   Just checked and my firmware ver. is 1.05B.   If I remember right it was maybe 6 months after they first came out that I bought it (I never updated the firmware).

Anybody using an Omnistat with Elk M1 or Homeseer?

I've had an Omnistat 2000 for years now and have had no problems with it. Up until about a year ago it was connected directly to my M1 and worked great controlling it either directly from the M1 or through HS using Ultra's Elk plug-in.   It's now directly connected to my dedicated HS3 PC using...

    Check your batteries: Battery Leaking/Weeping

Elk batteries can leak just by themselves..   Just purchased 2 new batteries (8ah) last month and put the box they were shipped in next to my current install until I got a chance to replace the old ones. A few days later when I got around to it I opened the box and noticed the batteries were...

    HAI OmniStat2 - ELK M1 Setup

You only need 1 XSP for up to 4 Omnistat's. The setup menu on the Omnistat allows you to set a numeric ID on each stat, i.e. 1,2 etc. The M1 uses that ID number to differentiate the stats, i.e Thermostat 1, Thermostat 2.   I've been using an Omnistat2 (2000) with my M1 for several years now and...

Elk M1RF2G (GE) wireless false alarms

Ditto... for using the ground plane antenna. I've had 28 of the NX-455 micro contacts in use for almost 2 years now and never had a false alarm (They are set for fast loop response). The battery ran out on one of them a while back and the M1 correctly reported "trouble" on that zone.

    UPB Lights Flickering and Worse

I have a vacation home in the boonies with about 30 UPB switches (mostly PCS but a few SA and HAI). The power from the co-op power company experiences frequent brief outages and seems to be of questionable stability. A couple times a month, 5 or 6 UPB switches will just come on (not always the...

Need help with Elk M1XSP->RCS TR40 Thermostat Communication

I had the same setup working great for several years. Then one day the M1 couldn't communicate any more with the TR40 (control from the thermostat still worked). Turned out that the RS-485 portion of the TR40 control unit went bad.

Recommend Wireless Sensor for ELK M1XRF2G

Sorry, I don't have a clue what's going on with your system. I've changed the configuration of many of my wireless sensors several times once they're set-up and never had a problem. You might try dropping a message in the Marketplace/Elk forum. Their Chief Engineer, Spanky, lurks there. He's...

Recommend Wireless Sensor for ELK M1XRF2G

Steve, For all my 455's the following is the way I've done them all with no problems experienced: - Go to the particular zone number set-up screen to use. - Click on Wireless Setup. - Enter the TX ID of the sensor and Save (as soon as you start entering #'s the "Enable" box activates). - Set...

Review of Schlage BE369Z-Wave Controlled Dead Bolt anyone?

FYI, HomeSeer can now control the Schlage using the Aeon SmartStick USB controller or their own HomeTroller Zwave controller. I also believe at least one other company (is it MiCasa??) provides control for the Schlage without using that ridiculous on-line subscription service. Don't forget, you...

M1G Z-wave or UPB status feedback

I certainly agree that from a reliability standpoint a hardware only solution would be preferable. Initially the M1 was my sole automation controller running lighting, thermostat and security. I added a PC based controller (HomeSeer) primarily due to frustration over the limitations of the M1's...

M1G Z-wave or UPB status feedback

I can help with parts of your questions and hopefully others will chime in to cover what I couldn't or got incorrect... 1) I'm not that conversant with Zwave as I decided to go with UPB for lighting over Zwave. But I do have my lighting tied into both an M1 and a PC running HomeSeer. I also am...

UPB Polling - Is there such a thing? UPB trouble via java/web interface

I don't know when/if Elk will implement using the UPB ACK message. If my memory hasn't gone completely I have some recollection of this discussion taking place previously either here or over on the Elk site discussion board. I believe someone from Elk (Spanky maybe?) mentioned they would look...

UPB Polling - Is there such a thing? UPB trouble via java/web interface

personalt, I don't use the M1 Ethernet interface so I can't provide any insight to your web/java interface problems. The M1's UPB implementation does not do polling (I don't know if CQC does or not). It just sends out the UPB command and just "assumes" that the command was received and...

    Home Monitoring with M1G

Besides X10 and Zwave, the M1 also supports UPB, Insteon, Centralite (several flavors), RadioRA, and Vantage lighting systems. No "generic" ZigBee yet. UPB requires a Powerline Interface Module (PIM) similar to X10. It intefaces to the M1 through an M1XSP module. 3 companies manufacture UPB...
