The M1 with a M1XEP Ethernet Card currently supports the Osborne Hoffman 2000 receiver with an Ethernet card. The central station selection is limited. The new SIA Ethernet Reporting protocol should make a difference when the software catches up with it.
Is Direct IP Monitoring running yet on NextAlarm? If not, who else provides this service? I have an Elk M1 Gold. Thank You.

Here is a list of alarm systems that Nextalarm supports for their "ABN" (alarm broadband network) - the Elk M1G is included.
It appears to require this $99 piece of hardware (scroll to bottom of page, "ABN Broadband Adapter".)
why would direct IP monitoring be better than cellular monitoring? NA supports cellular monitoring, the Uplink ANYNet also connects to an XSP, and there are no wires that can be cut between the the elk and the monitoring company, plus with the serial connection on the uplink, you get all the information you would get anyways by direct IP monitoring. what am i missing?

I agree. I imagine that a loss of connection, i.e. thief cuts the cable line going to the house, with an IP monitored setup is met with a lesser response than a full alarm. Which is more compelling: Hello, police we've lost connection with the Smith's alarm system, or hello police, there is an intrusion at the Smith's porch door? I will take my cell connection over IP monitoring for now. Thank you.
