Where are you?

In case you haven't noticed yet, I integrated a Google Maps based service, which allows you to share where you live. If you are curious whether someone lives near you, check it out, and if you haven't added yourself yet, please take a second to do so. Thanks!

Do NOT enter your street address, just use the name of the town you are in (or a big city close to you). This map feature just to get an idea of where everyone is, but we don't want to make it too easy for someone to find you.

Maybe a bit security conscious, but we do share lots about our security systems, our expensive toys, etc....wish there was a larger, less specific way to identify general location. Any ideas?

OK so at first I thought it just picked up the settings from the board - now I see you have to manually add yourself to the map - which was done. You can't see me because Wuench 's icon covers me up. Tried to delete mine so I could put in a different city but it won't let me.
All in all it looks pretty cool.

PaulD, I deleted your old entry. Monk, I deleted your pin, so you can place a new one (editing isn't supported by the system).

Dan..Thanks for deleting my old entry. However, when I started to load a new entry, I did not have my image ready so I canceled during the process and now the system shows a gold marker for me and when I mouse over it, it askes if I need to edit it. Your note said editing is not supported. Did I screw up the system?????

EDIT....I closed the map and then went back later. My marker was gone when I revisited it so I guess the "edit" feature was only active while I had the initial active session involving the map.

Sounds about right, I can't imagine it supporting editing your marker without having some form of authentication in place.
