Very Strange UPB Issue

Hi,
 
I've got a HAI OmniPro2 installed in my daughters home. It has the most recent firmware. It is configured for UPB lighting (some HAI devices, some SA devices) using the HLC scheme.
 
All works fine (normally).
 
One of the "rooms" is used for the outside flood lights (4 SA dimmer devices, 1 HAI relay device, 1 HAI room controller device). All of these devices are programmed with the standard ON, OFF, A, B, C, D scenes. The OFF scene is configured to set all devices to 0% as you might expect.
 
Here is the strange problem.
 
Twice in the last year my daughter has called me to say the flood lights will not turn off. I've gone over to her house and sure enough the OFF scene is turning the floods ON. Using UPSTART I have verified the entire UPB network. All devices are correct EXCEPT for the five flood light devices. For these five devices the OFF scene setting has somehow changed from 0% to 100%.
 
No other settings on any other UPB devices have changed - not a one - only these five devices - only the OFF scene - both times.
 
I am baffled, totally baffled.
 
Any ideas?

Is the level actually changed on the device when you verify in UpStart?
i.e. you programmed 0% and now they are set to 100%?
 
Are they SA US2-40 dimmers?
Do you have the "Enable Add/Delete Transmit Link feature" enabled in the options tab?
That may be overwriting the program.
 
I assume you are using the HLC mode (vice raw UPB) since you mentioned rooms.
Have you tried to program links into the HAI devices using their program in situ function instead of using UpStart?
The SA devices may not respond properly to those signals.
 
As a work around you can always send the Link Off (Deactivate) command instead of On (Activate). 
Any unit set to respond to that link will go off regardless of what level is programmed in it.
e.g. Room OFF OFF instead of Room OFF ON

That woudl be my best guess... especially if she has small kids.  I know with some switches there's a way to do some programming from the switch location itself - never done it because Upstart is easier, but IIRC you can get it into programming mode then activate a scene and it'll learn its current setting.
 
I know my young kids would and still do stand around pressing the buttons a bunch of times in succession.

- The Add/Delete feature for ALL SA devices is disabled
 
- The light level for the OFF scene for all 5 devices is somehow altered from 0% to 100%
 
- All other devices are CORRECT according to the results of running the UPSTART "Verify Network" test.
 
- The configuration was done using UPSTART since the OmniPro will only configure HAI devices - most of my devices are SA.
 
- As mentioned it is ONLY these five devices for this "room" that are altered - it is only light level setting for the OFF scene that is altered. That is what is so strange.
 
 
Using "Deactivate" is a good idea. I can configure the HAI room controller to do this which should work around the problem.
