I am happy to announce that we finally reached 5,000 registered members. Considering this site was started as a tiny project on my server at home, it's pretty impressive how quickly this community has grown into what it is today. I would like to thank BraveSirRobbin, the members, the many manufacturers and vendors, for their contributions. I would also like to thank our advertisers and subscribers for supporting CocoonTech.com, as it is helping me to grow and secure the site's future.

Thanks guys!

That's cool, Dan. Happy to be one of the 5000! :)

Naw...that ignores the contribution of everyone else who helped build the foundation that made it to 5000. So, I think a more fitting tribute would be, say, AO giving away $5000 worth of goodies?? :)

Hmmm...Monk, I'm not sure you're "one of the 5000"....it says you're member number 5391. :o So, no AO goodies for you! :)

I would like to say thanks to Dan for creating such a great place to hang out and actually have meaningful discussions. With all the junk on the web today, it's nice to be part of a site like this and I think the culture and tone here are largely due to Dan's stewardship; A class act all the way!

I second that and want to thank everyone here for all the help and assistance they have given me. I'd have far to much money in the bank and no where near as many unfinished projects if it wasn't for everyone here at CT!

Cocoontech needs a testimonial section just for funny comments like this :)

Well that raises the obvious question; how is Monk #5391, but on the homepage it lists 5K registered members? Are the other ones spammers that were blocked?

I'm as cheap as they come, but even I found this site was worthy of ponying up some dough, because of all the helpful tips I've gotten.

Great site, great community. :)

You guys are funny :)

IVB: initially, before adding an 'intelligence check', some spammers managed to create accounts and test my spam-hating-cyborg. I never delete accounts, I just ban them. However, the majority of the difference is caused by people signing up, and not validating their account.
