Newbie from MN

Hi all

Well I finally got serious.
Got rid of my old HA software and upgraded to Homeseer - it's incredible!
Chucked my security service and installed an Elk-M1 Gold - the flexibility is remarkable
Ripped out my small x10 install and I am testing both Insteon and Z-wave. I will hardwire what I can.

Right now I am having more fun learning than actually getting anything done.

Security is up and running as well as some basic HA - my wife thinks the wake up call with the lights coming on and the rooster crowing is hilarious.

I have a home addition in the early planning stages and have lots to learn before we proceed.

Sites like this one make it possible for me to even attempt this.

I think I'm on my 2nd year of that..... but don't worry, that doesn't stop you from acquiring all KINDS of hardware you'll never actually use!
