So after doing some research on TVs and automated control, I purchased a 37" LG LH30 Series TV for my MBR about 6 months ago. I choose to go with the LG because it has a native RS-232 port with a easily attainable protocol - found in the owners manual
I mounted that TV shortly after I bought it and still havent run any additional wiring to that area to support installation of a serial cable.
All of that said... I just bought a 42" LG LH40 Series TV for our guest BR, and wanted to play with some of the serial commands before I mount it. I just started looking through the manual and found some information which led me to begin thinking about how I would actually wire and install the serial cabling to a PC.
The LG manual states that you need to assign each TV a Set ID (from 1 - 99), were additional TVs would obviously have a different SetID:
There are also examples of various commands in the manual such as Power On/Off:
Which leads me to the question.. since the command requires the specific SetID of each TV, do you guys think that I could potentially wire BOTH TVs to the same serial port?
