How do I connect my OmniLT to use a mobile app for local and remote access to the controller board? SOLVED

I am a new member of the group. I own an OmniLT system V 2.14 since Feb 2007. Recently, FIOS upgraded my ONT box to the latest version and now the system will not pick up outside calls for remote access. (Ring once or twice, hang up, wait 10-20 seconds, ring again). The remote access was fine until this change. It does work for local modem access on my phone line when I press #. I also have dealer PC Access software and use a PC modem to connect to PC Access.

I want to try an establish a connection using an ethernet cable to my router.

I read several posts and used the knowledge base in ChatGPT and did the following:

  1. Ran a CAT6 100 ft cable from the ASUS router to the location of the HAI enclosure
  2. Purchased a tested working Latronix UDS1100 RJ-45 to DB-25
  3. Connected a 4 wire ‘phone cable” to the RJ-11 port on the Omni LT.
  4. Made an adapter with an RJ-11 on one end and DB-25 on the other end based on the wiring diagram in the OmniLT installation manual. (see attached). Note the RX and TX are crossed over. Tested with DMM and all connections are good.
  5. Configured the UDS1100 per ChatGPT using Port 4369, and allowing for 2-way communication, the Baud Rate is 9600, 8 data bits, parity none, 1 stop bit; IF mode 4C, Connect mode C0, Flow 00. Set the UDS1000 IP address on the router to a static address 192.168.2.94
  6. I tested Port 4369 while my phone was on my local Wi-Fi (same Wi-Fi as the Latronix) using canyouseeme.com and the test was successful.
  7. Also was able to connect to the UDS1000 (my local IP 192.168.2.94) using Telnet (on the UDS1000 device installer Windows program) and from Command Prompt and the UDS menu loads.
  8. Reset the UDS1100 after each test to make sure the connection was closed before the next test.
  9. Installed the Leviton Snaplink apk v 2.1.6 from a link on the forum installed in on my Samsung android phone but when I enter in the information and point to 192.168.2.94 and request retrieve setup. I keep getting “Incorrect Information”
  10. I tried SnapLink Mobile by Phung Le Uyen but when trying to retrieve setup, I get a connection timeout

What should I do next?

The Omni LTE does not support 2 way audio. It is my understanding that the circuitry on the controller board for this feature was not included.
The Module may be used with Omni LT, Omni, Omni II, Omni IIe, OmniPro and OmniPro II automation controllers. HAI Part Number: 10A11-1. This is on ,y Omni LT and I did not want to lost this feature.

I already have one in my Omni LT, but it does not work for the Omni LTE because the The Omni LTe lacks the necessary circuitry to support the 2-Way Voice Module. I bought an Omni LTE on eBay but I am likely to resell it and buy an OP2 due to this issue

I have never hooked up the two way voice to an OmniLTe but it shows as supported in both the installation manual (page 44) and the OmniLTe data sheet. Can I ask what document you are referencing?

Yes, I see that on page 44 but the feature that I want is for the audio board to announce the alarm type over my HAI wall mounted speaker so the entire house can hear ir and that is not supported or mentioned in the installation mnaual.

I went thru and compared the OmniPro2 install to the OmniLTe install manuals.
You are correct, there are a number of features under setup misc. that are not described on the OmniLTe.

I purchased a Sandman Ring Voltage Booster II on eBay. This is connected to the line in from my Verizon Fios ONT box and creates a true sine wave 90V ring voltage on the line out that runs to the controller board. After cionnecting it, I was finally able able to use the remote dial-in access to the Omni LT again. The ONT box creates a ring voltage signal that is not a sine wave and may be loweer than the 90V needed for the controller board to recognize the ring.

That being said, I still pllan to upgrade to a more robust HAI/Omni System that will give me ann ethernet post and the ability to use HomeSeer mobile app as well, using the HomeTrroller Pi G8 HS4.
