Cannot Connect ElkRMS softwre to M1 Controla panel

The ElkRP software connects to the M1 control panel via the Ethernet interface just fine. It uses the secure port 2601 on my Linksys router. However when I run the ElkRMS software it will not connect. I have enabled the insecure port 2101 as instructed. I have also disabled the Linksys firewall and listed port 2101 in the Port Range triggering section of the router. Does anyone have experience with this?

First of all, I would not expose your M1 directly to the internet like that, as it will allow anyone to monitor your M1 without authentication. That said, have you tried to telnet to the insecure port? You should see some text every 15 seconds or so.

Make sure your ELK-RP is not connected when you try and connect with RMS. Double check your settings etc. as well.

It is resolved and was pretty darn stupid. I was thinking way too technical.
