    DS2423 rain gauge question

Eric, Got the new Ds2423 board for my rain gauge. I forgot to write down the wire hookup for the reed switch. Do you short the B or A terminals to ground to get a count or do you send the the input high to get a count. Where does the reed switch wire go? Thanks

    Solar readings again

I have been following both the post below on making some sense from the solar readings on a HB solar board. http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=4072 http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=6452 Problem is, there's so much to sift through and the info changes if you changes...

HB 4 channel DS2408 relay board and Owcom API

I am using the Owcom API and VB 2008 express for all my 1 wire programs. I just got the HB 4 channel relay board from Eric and was ready to experiment. The first problem I see is the the DS2408 chip is not even listed in the Owcom API primer docs that come with the 1 wire SDK. I found info on...

Powering HB relay board with 6 channel mater hub

Eric, Just wanted to double check before I go hooking up the 4 relay board I just got from you. I have one of your 6 channel master hubs From the RJ45 diagram on your site, it looks like there is +5volts on wire #2 and + 12volts DC on wire #7 I wasn't sure about the total current draw of the...

    HB - DS2438 Solar Voltage/current monitors

Hey Eric, Thanks for the DS2438's and other parts. I built 3 boards using your DS2438's that are monitoring my solar experiment. Had to cut the PC boards on my CNC machine. I used regular full sized resistors and caps cause I sell them and had them on hand. Besides, dealing with those surface...

    Monitoring voltages

I just got a 24volt solar panel. I want to monitor the DC voltage coming off the panel. I'll use my HB solar sensor also so I can get a graph with solar readings and solar panel output readings. I was looking at your store Eric, looks like the HVAC Monitor would be what I want to monitor the...

Integrated One wire, video and x10 program I wrote

I have been busy writing a VB program that integrates my Dallas one wire network, my X10 home automation modules and my video surveilance cameras. Coming along nicely and I am able to do lots of cool stuff now that I have tapped into my one wire network. Here's some info on the project for...

    Reading rain gauge

I'm currently reading HB Ds1820 temp sensors and HB humidity sensors via Visual basic 2008 and the one wire SDK I don't see any rain gauge containers in the one wire docs. Curious as to how to read the rainwise gauge I got from HB?

    Wire question for long run

I have to make a 150ft wire run to some DS1820 temp sensors inside some schedule 40 gray pvc pipe. I am powering the sensors from my 6 channel master hub at the other end of the cable. I was going to use some spare cat 6 cable I had here already but it seems like such a waste to use such nice...

Reading One wire via Visual Basic

Does anyone have a simple Visual basic working example of how to read a one wire network DS1820 temp sensor? Or any one wire weather device would do, just as long as the code actually works. Everything I come across on the web or the SDK file does not work for one reason or another. Either it's...

    Help, Wserver stopped working

I have an email into Arne at Wserver, but it takes him a week to get back to you. Wserver has been working fine for over a year, no problems. Today I Installed the one wire SDK 4.0 for windows on this page http://www.maxim-ic.com/products/ibutton/s...owsdk/index.cfm Then Wserver quit so I...

    HB temp sensor in water

I have a couple future applications where I am going to be monitoring some water and soil temps in a green house. Anyone ever take one of the simple HB temp sensor kits and put the DS1820 at the end of a wire instead of mounting it on the board? I am thinking that instead of trying to water...

    Current sensing-Powerflash-SR227 project finished

I added a new project to my X10 project pages. I built a current sensing device that senses when I turn on any one of several dust belching machines I have in my shop. The current sensor circuit then triggers a X10 powerflash unit. The powerflash then triggers a X10 SR227 This turns on my dust...

Integrating 1 wire, X10, Perl and Wserver

I have successfully blended Hobby Boards sensors, Wserver weather program, the X10 Active home pro CM15A USB X10 controller and Perl. Using the X10 AHP Software developers kit that is availble free, and writing Perl programs, I can control the X10 CM15A USB controller and all my X10 modules...

    One wire current sensing

Saw this project in the coccoontech How to Guides. http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=6864 Pretty cool stuff. Cr Magnetics does not sell the CR3110 current sensor on their site, they just give links to distributors. http://www.crmagnetics.com/newprod/Product...ProdName=CR3110 Eric...

    Rain gauge counter question.

Eric, got the rain gauge and Barometer. Nice stuff, thanks. Question for anyone on the Rainwise counter that comes with the Rain Gauge. I have a very crude counter I use to count wire length. The rain wise counter is much nicer, smaller, runs on a battery, etc. Does the rainwise counter just...

Having Wserver start a perl program

I have a Perl program I wrote that reads the .txt data files in wservers/data folder and then makes graphs of the data. I have an email into Arne about this. Hopefully he'll answer. I need wserver to launch my perl program to create the graphs. Then I can have wserver FTP/upload them at...

    Wserver time zone and DST

I have wserver's ini file set for Timezone=-5 (eastern time) DST=1 (daylight savings = yes) But it still shows sunrise and sunset as 8:36 am and 6:23pm which is 1 hour late. Should be 7:36am and 6:23pm. WTF? over.
