In my OmniPro II System I have a number of rooms with 38A00-1 6-Button Scene Switches. Everything has been working great for many years, until the 38A00-1 Switch in the Library stopped working and began flashing all the buttons in a sequence that repeats continuously. I tried RESET TO DEFAULTS by holding the OFF and ON buttons for 3-seconds or more with no effect. I replaced the Switch with a replacement (said to be good by the eBay seller). It didn't light up at all. So, I put the original Switch back in, and now it flashes just two of the buttons. Again RESET didn't work. I should mention that this Switch is in a double J-box with a second Switch for the adjacent Dining Room. Before I replaced the flasher Switch, the Dining Room Switch was working perfectly. After the original Library Switch was reinstalled, the Dining Room Switch stopped working and it too began flashing all its lights in a different sequence and RESET also didn't work. I, of course, rechecked the wiring (although I'm an Electrical Engineer and was pretty sure the simple two-wire wiring was correct).
I hope you're still with me. Here are some additional facts:
1. All of the 20 or so circuits in the Library and Dining Room work and dim perfectly from their individual Switches.
2. Neither the Library or Dining room 38A00-1 responds to any button push or RESET attempt whatsoever.
3. I'm not sure this is relevant, but the two 38A00-1 Switches and two individual circuits, one in the Library and one in the Dining Room are on the same Circuit Breaker. The remaining 18 or so individual Switches/circuits in the two rooms are on two different breakers.
I feel that the problem must be a programming issue, but I don't understand why the Switches don't respond to the RESET attempts. I'd be very happy if the Switches would work with the default Factory settings.
I'll be watching the Forum, hoping one of you who knows more than I do about the System can tell me what to do.
Thanks for listening!
