Need Help programming a new 6 button lighting scene controller model 3800-1

My HAI Omni system dates back to 2005 and I have posted pictures of the board and keypad. One of my lighting scene controllers failed and I managed to get a new replacement on EBay but I don't know how to program it. The old controller must have a different ID. Would appreciate any and all guidance from the forum.

Download Upstart and program the new controller to match the old controller configuration.

IE: use a hot spare UPB controller would be easiest.

Thanks, I've downloaded the software, and it calls for a PIM. Since my computer only has USB ports I ordered the USB version. I'm hoping that once it arrives, I'll be able to figure out how to set up the software to properly recognize it and establish a connection. I assume that the software will communicate with the switches directly or does it access them via the controller board?

I use a serial to USB cable with mine. The one sold has a built in USB to Serial device inside.

The UPB controller and software will communicate with the switches directly.

In the later versions of Omni Pro II software, the panel supported something HAI called HLC. The panel could control switches and controllers in UBP mode OR HLC mode. If you have all HAI switches and controllers, you can actually program everything without UPSTART and even without a computer. But for it to work, you do need a PIM connected to the panel, and switches and controllers have to added in by rooms. Here is an old presentation that explains it a bit. Most documentation is pretty old and hard to find. (With UPSTART some non-HAI switches can even be converted to HLC switches.). HLC Slide Presentation
