    Wallplates for RadioRA 2 Keypads

Standard plates will work. Everyone says that Lutron screwless plates are nicer.

Need help building/picking a new system

Since you are starting from scratch, you should take a look at the Lutron systems as well. RadioRA 2 can do most of what you want, or for less money you could have DIY level system with Caseta and HomeKit.   http://www.lutron.com/en-US/Products/Pages/WholeHomeSystems/RadioRA2/Components.aspx...

    Homeworks QS Programming Software?

Yes, it is possible to get that software. It would cost you $900 and 3 days. See   http://www.lutron.com/en-US/Education-Training/Pages/LCI/AboutLCI/CourseDetail.aspx?CourseID=173998

    ceiling fans? big ass ones?

The light kit on this fan can be trivially removed, so I wouldn't factor this into my decision. Besides, light kits on fans are for show - none of them can light a room anyway! ;-)     Speaking of Casablanca DC motors, I just did a bit of maintenance on one DC fan. It has 6 speeds, and the...

    Under cabinet LED lighting

Dimmable LED tape lights on magnetic dimmer work just fine with 6NA. And since LED tape is cut-to-size, you can make lamps as short or as long as needed.

how to do lutron radiora2 integration with hai?

You can always try replacing one bulb with incandescent and see if that helps. Not sure what you mean about neutral wire, I thought CL dimmers do not have neutral wire terminal.

    Philips Hue: first hand reliability?

Taps work reliably here. But I have 80s construction (wood and drywall). One thing which was a bit of a disappointment is how slow bridge is to report bulb status. There is a 1-2 second delay between tapping on a Tap and seeing light state correctly reflected in Hue API. Sigh...

    Current State Of RadioRA 2

Oops, sorry, you can't actually program anything without main repeater. So you can get a few dimmers first and set those up, but you can not program them. Then you can get a main repeater and program it without using PC software. It's called "walk around programming", meaning you walk around a...

    Current State Of RadioRA 2

You can even start out without main repeater and add one later on.

    Beginner questions

Agree in general, but I would not count Caseta by itself as "sophisticated". It is solid, easy to setup, but not complicated.   However, release of HomeKit compatible hub - which is available now, so no need to wait till September - and announced improvemets to HomeKit change things a lot, so...

Network dimming and controlling of led strip lights

There aren't many of those. It is easier to swap out your power supplies with dimmable power supplies (either magnetic kind, or electronic kind) - dimmable power supply can be connected on 110V side to any network controlled dimmer. This way you are not tied to anything, you can use absolutely...

Network dimming and controlling of led strip lights

There are tons of those. Lutron Caseta, Insteon, Lutron RadioRA 2, and many many more.

Leviton VRUSB owners: Do you have it working?

RA2 dimmers are usually under $120. $150 would be MSRP.

    Philips Hue: first hand reliability?

Keep in mind, both Lux and Link are "yellow-only" bulbs, these bulbs come only in yellow color (2700K or so).

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

They work with Hue hub too. Unfortunately, they both have this horrible yellow tint. For some reason they also do not dim as well as dumb bulbs. What's up with that?

Extremely happy with my success :)

Please, they are cloud based, meaning "somebody else's server on the internet" based. When we are talking web based, that would be Castle OS, which has the web as the main interface.

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

Do you know what the parasitic draw for smart bulbs is? I tried to find some specs, and haven't found anything. I know that my dimmers consume 0.2W, wondering how that would compare to smart bulbs.

Is hardwired lighting control still the way to go?

It's even better than that. What I like most about RA2 is that it has layered architecture. It means that -   * every dimmer and switch always works as a any other dumb dimmer and switch, even if everything else is down or off; * every keypad still works and can toggle programmed scenes even...

Is hardwired lighting control still the way to go?

RA2 has no "wireless relays". While switches do talk one to another, they never re-translate the signal. It is more of a star topology, not a mesh per se, hence there is never any need to "optimize the network" or "troubleshoot the routing" - you just install your main repeater and auxillary...

Do LED Bulbs generate noise that might interfere with UPB?

You are't supposed to use those except for some fun mood lighting! Get yourself some real HA gear, dimmers and such, will you? :-)     Agree. Tap is a must if you have Hue.     I wonder, how well that works? How soon CQC notices that you pushed a button on a Tap? Since Hue has no real time...
