Can't do the force armable for the upstairs windows since we may want to re-open them after we close them.

The patio door is just an example. I just tried with several windows open and the front door open. F6 put everything that was violated into bypass mode and armed.

I have nothing connected to Zone 01-16... I only have the nav keypad + eol, wireless receiver for honeywell + eol, m1exp connected right now... do I need an EOL on the control for z1-16?

I registered for the elk website but I've not yet been approved. I wired up my M1G yesterday... but I want to program it via the software instead of the keypad. Can anyone point me to an alternate download location please?

I'm definitely not the type that will just settle. Happy to bust out of my comfort zone to make it happen. Not sure I totally understood the connection to a wireless.... If I can get the wire in, I can get a full run back to the box. I'm just not entirely sure how to retrofit an existing window...

BTW - I'm saying bottom of the window because I'd like to place 2 magnets on each window... one at the closed position, the other a few inches open as a vent.

Thanks for the reply.... not sure I totally understand -- are you saying that I should effectively notch out the interior-side of the bottom track and drill into the bottom of the window to make the 5800MICRA fit? Could either paint the top of the micra white to make it blend better...

any thoughts on how to go wireless on these narrow windows w/o those bulky surface-mount contacts?

I don't have wires pulled at this point. Was thinking (read: hoping) to be creative to fish wire to the appropriate places for some wired contacts where I have room to maneuver.

Thanks for the reply... I'd love to eventually build out fuller home automation, but it's several months down the line. As for technology, I've been leaning toward Z-Wave or Insteon. Do you have thoughts on which way to go with that?
