webcontroller8 used to drive a pet feeder

Would I use a modified version of example 8 in the manual?  I've never done anything with time based plc coding.   basically have it check for midnight or noon, if it is then power up a output with a relay to power motor, then while motor is on have it be checking for the photo interupter to...

webcontroller8 used to drive a pet feeder

I have a pet feeder   http://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Feeder-Electronic-Programmable-display/dp/B002X73CBC   that needs new electronics -original was hard to program didn't work correctly half the time.   It uses a motor with a gear system to turn the bowls.  on bowl #1 the is a contact switch...

    Digital Air Flow Sensor?

i just meant for chubrock1 - he only needs 1 more analog input.  So I just was asking if DS had a chip that did that (or more than one) that was still active...

    Digital Air Flow Sensor?

CAI_Support is DS making a new chip to replace the DS2450?  seems like they do that a lot.  oris there another chip that is still made that we could use to give us 1 or more analog inputs using the 1wire?

    Digital Air Flow Sensor?

why not add the 1wire 4 analog expansion?  I know DS is discontinuing them but they are still out there.   that way you can just use the moderndevices analog sensor.   here's a ready made one I bought that works great with my webcontrol $17.50 + $8 shipping from china  ...

    any news on webcontrol32?

in regards to the hub coding, have you checked around on some of the programming forums?  maybe someone has made a patch or code that will allow use of a hub.  even if its a specific hub (as long as its not too expensive lol) the benefits would be great!   refresh my memory - what are the...

Cool, once again I'm ready to help with a beta test (unless you're really in an alpha stage)

Diy - detecting water leaks or water level....

or heres the other thing.  could you electroplate a zinc coating onto the resistors?  would that make them last longer?  There are plenty of diy ways to do that.

Diy - detecting water leaks or water level....

oh i agree.  just thought it was interesting.  some of these diy approaches are very good.  others - so so.   this site is where he got the idea and he has it mounted to a metal pipe (or with an aluminum strip on opposite side of resistors)   Why couldn't you use that metal tubing they use for...

Diy - detecting water leaks or water level....

found  this great post on a homemade water level sensor using a pvc (or whatever pipe) and some resistors.  looks promising.  they used it with an arduino so it should would with the webcontrol.   http://lifeboatfarm.wordpress.com/2009/12/28/arduino-water-level-gauge/

    solar tracker (controller)

I wonder if it would be difficult to use the webcontrol as the controller for an XY solar array tracker? moderndevices has a pretty cheap analog light sensor. I would think you could use the shade system to do it. Any ideas? I'm talming doing it with a seperate sensor not by the output of...

    Terminal boards for WebControl

can we get an unassembled kit here in the US? I'm looking to use it just as a breakout (not use the opamp).

    Terminal boards for WebControl

well you could sell it as a kit as long as you tell us where the different resistors go. I have no problem soldering it myself but I'm sure someone here would like a complete one. I just love black and red colored pcbs. I've seen a bright blue one once too that looked cool. It even had the...

    Terminal boards for WebControl

yeah that last part should have said "Of course the cost isn't that big a deal I guess". Meaning the extra cost of a few resistors and the opamp.

suggestions for enhancements to webcontrol (not 32)

can you modify the http get to do be able to do either http or udp get with a selector? Or is is this another space issue?

    Terminal boards for WebControl

is the spacing of the input resistors 1 4 7 such that one could put a jumper there instead if someone doesn't need the input filtering? Of course the cost is that big a deal I guess

    Terminal boards for WebControl

is it too late? what about changing the silk screen (or is that copper) labels for the digital inputs to what input they are, why not make the board a little longer so you can see the names in front of the terminal block?
