I have an Elk M1G with M1XEP. I use ElkRP on a Win-7 machine to connect to M1 Control over local (home) network. Same hardware has been in use for 5 years. In June, I started getting the following error whenever I tried to connect (from ElkRPLog2 file): TLS Disconnect - Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I've read here that for Win-10, Microsoft has mandated the use of longer encryption keys for all SSL/TLS network connections which are not supported by old M1XEP firmware. But this is a Win-7 machine. Did Microsoft issue a security update in June for Win-7 that enforces longer encryption keys and thus broke connectivity of ElkRP to panel?
If not, has anyone else received this error and found a solution?
For reference, ElkRP is Version 2.0.18, M1G Control is 5.0.18.0, System Boot Ver is 3.3.6, and Firmware Ver is 5.2.10. M1XEP uses secure port at static IP address.
