Hi,
I'm looking for a stand-alone device that will provide a warning when powered by a low voltage (ie. 12vdc), and will not blast anyones ears off.
The setup I have in mind is a very inexpensive door monitoring circuit that uses a reed switch and an Elk timer, which would close a circuit after X minutes, thereby sounding a device and possibly flashing a strobe. It is intended as a warning device in a commercial setting to warn the business operators of when the freezers have been left open, to protect their assets. Since it will be in a "retail" environment, I need to be certain that the sound will be noticeable, but not enough to alarm/disturb the customers. Volume control would be a huge plus.
I will also be looking at temperature monitoring (either with the Elk or the Magic Module) as an alternative option.
