Caddx NX8 V2 Programing question

I am trying to get my new NX8 programmed using the DL900 software.

I seem to have been successful with everything except the zone name descriptions. No matter what I do, the LCD panels still call the zone "zone1", Zone2" etc, instead of Family room doors, entry, Fire, etc.

Anyone have a clue what I might be doing wrong?

The keyboards say "download in progress" - so I guess it's comuncating ok. I have been able to change the atributes of the zones, but I cannot - for the life of me - seem to get the zone names to change.

Also - the custom message does not change either. Hmm, cooincidence.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It's been a while since I played around with the DL900 software (it's buggy as all get out), but is there a way to download to the keypad directly from it? Also, make sure you don't have any address conflicts with secondary keypads.

I removed the other keypad. The "directions" such as they are, do not give much insight into any of this. I'm only running one keypad until I get this sorted out. Once I get 1 keypad working, I'm hoping I can just connect the second keypad?

It's strange. I see my other data being uploaded, and my system parameters being adjusted, just not the zone names.

sorry - I don't use the software either... I do all the programming through the keypad.
