Haiku Can't restore Haiku to new iPhone

FWIW, it seems like the FREE "TouchMe Lisa" app works: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/touchme-lisa/id1103310571?mt=8   The app is localized in Spanish, but it appears you can edit most of the labels, which is pretty nice. I get the impression the company that makes the app does custom installs...

HAI PC Access runs under CrossOver Mac, need UPB UPStart solution

I have VMware Fusion which supports USB, but as I mentioned, I don't want to purchase a license for Windows and then deal with the hassle of maintaining a full Windows install in a "virtual machine" if I can avoid it.   The beauty of CrossOver Mac is that it is based on WINE and does not require...

HAI PC Access runs under CrossOver Mac, need UPB UPStart solution

So CrossOver has a free trial, which is perfect for situations like this.   Even though PC Access and UPStart UPB are not listed in their "What Runs" database, I was able to install both of them in the same Windows XP "bottle" and both appear to run fine.   PC Access works, and I'm able to...

HAI PC Access runs under CrossOver Mac, need UPB UPStart solution

Based on my update below, it seems that HAI Dealer PC Access does run under CrossOver Mac.   Still no solution for the UPStart UPB programming software.   (I want to be able to run these on a Mac without needing to deal with the hassles of a real Windows install running in a VM.)

Unable to update firmware on OmniTouch 7

Wouldn't you know it... I got it to work.   I logged in to the switch and turned PoE off and back on to reset the OmniTouch 7, and after that, PC Access was able to apply both firmware updates.   The good news is the "chuffing" sound coming from the speaker appears to be muted during idle...

Unable to update firmware on OmniTouch 7

I just recently my first OmniTouch.   Out of the box, it is running version 1.01 and is functioning with the system (I can control lights, arm/disarm, control thermostats, etc.) but I have the "chuffing" noise so definitely want to upgrade the firmware/kernel.   When I go in to PC Access >...

    Camera's Best for my setup?

Out of curiosity, what PoE IP cameras will you be using?   I'm starting to look for outdoor-rated PoE cameras to integrate with my HAI/OmniTouch system (plus a linux box where I'm probably going to run ZoneMinder) and am looking for something that is good in both daylight and at night when...

Configuring an SA US2-40 with load control and HLC compatibility?

Desert_AIP: thanks for the insight!   Seems like the US2-40 may indeed work. I will try to digest the above info and get it working this weekend.

Configuring an SA US2-40 with load control and HLC compatibility?

I recently installed a Simply Automated US2-40 with a ZS25O (4 buttons with 1 rocker) faceplate. This is my first time using the US2-* style product.   The intention was to replace an existing US11-40 so that this location could have scene control as well.   Unfortunately, while trying to...

HAI UPB Switches with flickering incandescents and LEDs

Just a quick update: I replaced the Leviton 35A00-1CFL switches with UPB switches from Simply Automated and the flickering has disappeared.   For reference, this is what the flickering looked like with the -CFL switches. There are seven lights (all Cree CR6 series LEDs) are on two different...

    New style LED bulbs

jlegault: Which specific brands/models of the candelabra bulbs have you used? I have quite a few fixtures that need candelabra base lights and have been looking for some decent, dimple LED replacements.

HAI UPB Switches with flickering incandescents and LEDs

I can also confirm flickering when using the Leviton 35A00-1CFL switches. I had an install where the kitchen used Cree CR-series recessed LED lighting, and any UPB activity, including programming, or even just manually dimming/brightening another switch, caused the LED lights to flicker.   I'm...

Blind recommendations for wireless home automation

Thanks for the replies thus far.   Is anyone familiar with the motorization system used by MyBlinds (a lower-cost subsidiary of Hunter-Douglas that is sold through Home Depot)?   Take a look at the "Remote Lift Motorization" video for the "Sheer Shadings" (equivalent to the Hunter-Douglas...

Blind recommendations for wireless home automation

We're getting ready to order new window coverings and I'd like to make sure we're getting something that can be motorized/automated down the road. (Ideally a wireless solution, since I don't have luxury of running power/control wires to the already existing windows.)   We're mostly leaning...

    Haiku Feature Requests

This is a minor thing, but it would improve the "first use" experience if you made it easier to enter the security key. Typing in the 32-character security key as a "password" and hoping you don't make any mistakes is a pain point. That obfuscation seems totally overkill for a single-use text...

OmniTouch 7s or wall-mounted iPad Minis running Space?

Thanks for the insight about the Launchport wall mounts. They do look really nice!   A hardwired "keypad style" console is required to maintain a UL rating with an Omni panel, so there will definitely be one of those.   For now, I'm mostly interested in comparisons of the OT7 to wall-mounted...

    Haiku Space Questions/Troubleshooting/etc

I will say that it was very annoying typing in the 32-character security key as a "password" and hoping I didn't make any typos. That obfuscation seems totally overkill to me for a single-use text entry field... just don't configure Space when somebody is looking over your shoulder (which is...

OmniTouch 7s or wall-mounted iPad Minis running Space?

I'm getting ready to do a new Omni install and I'm trying to determine the pros and cons of OmniTouch 7s versus wall-mounted iPad Minis running Space (the replacement for Haiku).   I don't have any direct experience with the OT7... all of my previous Omni installs have used the traditional Omni...

3G/4G-capable replacement for HAI C3 Communicator?

I've learned the hard way that the HAI C3 is "2G" only because AT&T has already started sunsetting 2G in a couple areas where I have them installed.   They are connected to HAI/Leviton Omni panels which allow the user to dial-in and interact with the system via voice prompts, and also for the...

Is HAI+OmniTouch the best solution for new installations?

I was not aware that Haiku was replaced by a new app called Space. Thanks for the heads up. (The fact that it's a "new app" leads me to believe that I'll have to pay again, even though Haiku was already the most expensive app on my iOS devices...)   Thanks for the insight on the HAI/Leviton UPB...
