Yes, the main repeater will accept commands via RS-232 and will support several IP clients (I forget how many) at the same time. Each IP client needs a user name and password in the RA2 main repeater.
How about a smoke detector (optical type) in a weatherproof housing? Power it and wire the relay to a zone. You would have to do some testing in a bathroom to see if fog triggers it or not.
The software is only available to those who have attended the Lutron training for Radio RA 2. Not sure how close you are to Coopersburg but maybe you can attend training at the Lutron factory.
I just made a call to my distributor and the MSRP is $499, I suspect there will be a slightly lower street price. They do not currently have any in stock but are on order so they should be available soon.

If this was already posted I apologize (I didn't see it) but I like the CM series from iPort...looks very clean. It has a magnetically attached bezel and charges the unit while docked. I don't have any info on pricing or availability yet.

I have been using BlackBlaze for a few months. The initial back-up takes forever if you have a lot of data, however, there is a setting to make it go faster if bandwidth is not a concern. The ability to back-up external drives was the driving factor for me.

God point. I should clarify I mainly use the nail method for motion detectors. Speaker wire I zig-zag and staple (like others mentioned) so I can pull the slack out after I cut the speaker hole.
