    Baby monitors with high WAF?

If you have a smartphone, I'd recommend this: http://withings.com/en/babymonitor Don't have it myself but have their scale and blood pressure monitor and both are solid products.

    Need help setting up VRC0P

Looked over PDF and the instructions are more or less the same - enroll locks, enroll serial interface last. The only thing I didn't do was setting association. I will try that. Maybe that's the missing step. As far as z-stick software, enrollement is hardware controlled, the node neighbor...

    Need help setting up VRC0P

If that's the case, how would I enroll locks into VRC0P? I thought it cannot be done directly and requires a primary controller and VRC0P acts as secondary. Is it not correct?   I'd like to hear from anybody using VRC0P with locks (or even any other device) - what was the process you went...

    Need help setting up VRC0P

Hello. I'm trying to setup VRC0P with Schlage door locks and not having much luck. I could really use some help. Here's what I'm doing:   1. Enroll door locks and light modules into z-stick.  2. Enroll VRC0P into z-stick.  3. Run neighbor update on each node.    Now, when I send a command to...

Schlage Link Deadbolt and Lever handle on sale at Best Buy

I'm speaking from my personal experience with Kwikset lock. Like I said, it's cheap version, not z-wave one. It is not tapered. Here's how it works with manual - you try to turn it, it doesn't turn. You pull the door tighter, until it turns. Done. Here's how it worked with this Kwikset - you...

Schlage Link Deadbolt and Lever handle on sale at Best Buy

I have two of these locks (front door and garage) and I think they're great. Very solidly made. I actually prefer non-motorized one. If the door is a little tight, the motorized might fail to close. Maybe not an issue for me but could be for my wife, baby sitter, etc. On the other hand, this...

    Controlling LED RGB Rope Lighting

It should be possible but I'm not sure. Also, even if possible, other controllers might not have command set to change colors. On the other hand, Philips controller basically accepts JSON over HTTP. And while Philips doesn't officially support DIY at this point, they don't prohibit it and might...

    Controlling LED RGB Rope Lighting

What capabilities you're looking for? Do you want to control individual pixels or whole string? The latter might be achievable with relays. Former requires some form of digital control. There are few options on amazon. Ikea has some LED strips. Look up Ray Wu store on alibaba. His products are...

Recommendations for Easily Expandable and Programmable Home Automation.

Is it possible to use Java? If so, I can probably adapt my libraries to run as a Premise driver.

Need help with VRC0P (and RO command)

    I have a fairly simple z-wave setup: Z-Stick primary controller (Node 1) VRC0P (Node 2) VRP03 (Node 3) 2 Schlage locks (Nodes 4 & 5) Node 1 sees only Node 2, Node 2 sees 3 (and sometimes 4) and 3 sees 4 & 5. 4 & 5 also see each other. I can run "update network" and I can reliably get from...

    Newbie...Need some opinions to start

One thing to consider - with z-wave and Insteon (don't know about UPB) - devices repeat signal and enhance reliability. So the more devices of the same protocol you have - the better. It's fine to try different technologies but in general, it's better to stick to one once you decide.

What part makes HAI OP2 speak to Z-Wave?

HAI OPII is a security system with home automation. It uses VRC0P to interface with z-wave network. In order to include VRC0P (and any other z-wave device), you need a controller. It could be z-troller or any other primary controller. I don't know what you're referring to by "homeseer" - the...

SIP Phones with Analogue phone line. What do I need?

You should be able to use Obi without PBX but you should really ask in Obi forums, just in case.

SIP Phones with Analogue phone line. What do I need?

This is maybe not the best forum for this kind of information but what you want is VOIP gateway. You need the one with FXO port, which is where you plug analog PSTN line into. In contrast, FXS port is used to plug analog phone into SIP line. There are numerous FXO gateways out there. For...

Insteon vs Zwave vs Zigbee vs UPB Comparison 2011

I have to say I'm in Insteon camp because I have an SDK and all the documentation. But looking at Z-Wave protocol, it's appears to be a lot more robust and well thought out. I wish they'd make their commands documentation available for a reasonable price. I really don't need their classes (nor...
