Were you able to confirm that the appropriate drivers are installed? I read that they are supposed to come with the viewer application, but I installed them seperately and got it working. I'm using the USB adapter, though.

If you don't really care about controlling things but are primarily trying to just log data, the Arduino might be worth checking out as a relatively cheap DIY solution. Might require some coding, though.

I have also used monoprice for mainly cable and it works great. Just bought a projector ceiling mount for them that I will install in the next week or two, so we'll see how that type of hardware works. They definitely have nice prices!
Do any of you use any online backup services? I've been looking for an online service that will not only backup data but also allow me to sync it between computers. I now this isn't practical for media libraries or other huge amounts of data, but I think just a few gigs would be plenty for all...
I'm an Insteon user and have had no problems with it, but when I build a home in the future I will definitely be looking for a product that has a dedicated line. If it were ethernet-ready, even better.
Cool device. I'm surprised by the low price. As this technology becomes cheaper and cheaper I hope it starts being manufactured into appliances and other normally unconnected devices in the home. That would be sweet...

Just last weekend I set up uTorrent on my Ubuntu box with Wine. I had tried to avoid it because I haven't been impressed with wine in the past. uTorrent, however, seems to be working very well. The webUI even passed the wife test.
