Some manufacturers include fiber in their bundled cable. The main problem with this is the lack of standards and demand in the residential market. When (or if) there is finally a demand for fiber in the home, will the fiber you install today meet the future specifications? Even in the locations where FTTH (Fiber To The House) is available, the maximum download speed is 30 Mbit. Considering that you can now get 1000 Mbit speed over a twisted pair, there is little rational for fiber.

Recommendation

Avoid installing fiber at this time. If you’re really worried about future proofing, install conduit.
