CQC (Charmed Quark Controller) is Charmed Quark Systems is a home automation package which follows the client-server model. CQC has an extensive list of supported hardware, and plugins for new devices are continuously being worked on.

Charmed Quark Systems seems to be targeting 2 markets: The installer market, and the DIY market. While the DIY version does not include any official support, one can find help on the official support forum, which is very active.

One of the main features of this software is touch screen support. It provides the customer with an easy to use designer tool, supporting many different kinds of widgets. The client runs on most modern Windows based operating systems, but they also offer a lightweight client for Windows Mobile and Windows CE based devices, which relies on the .NET compact framework. This DotNetViewer client (also referred to as DNV) does have some restrictions compared with the Windows client, such as lack of support for alpha transparencies, and also has issues with certain widgets.
