Error 1137 Flash Memory Error Trouble

As a note it has been awhile and I have not received additional instances of this message so I am chalking it up to a fluke.

    M1XEP Monitoring

That is really strange, I didn't catch that the first time I read the post that they wouldn't sell a replacement. To do a free replacement I could see asking for a multi year commitment, a discounted price, or the like, but to not allow a replacement to be sold is very strange (and does not seem...

    M1XEP Monitoring

On the topic of NextAlarm, I'll note the following: I had switched from verizon to cablevision and that (as I found in the end) had caused some changes in the way I setup the networking, which broke the NextAlarm connection. I had submitted a tech support request via the site and explained the...

    Strange Wireless Behaviour

Interesting idea, and yes those batteries are supposed to be good for 10-15 years if I recall. I replaced the whole unit though (battery and sensor) so I can't prove your theory. If I ever have a similar situation again I'll keep that in mind.

    Strange Wireless Behaviour

For reference, I realized I never posted the final: I had no additional issues once I replaced the sensor, so I chalked it up to that.

Error 1137 Flash Memory Error Trouble

I recently had a notification from my monitoring company that "Protection Loop Trouble: Carbon Monoxide Down". In looking into it, I had an entirely different message in the Elk log: 1137 = FLASH MEMORY ERROR TROUBLE I could not find anything on this at all, are there any recommended...

    Strange Wireless Behaviour

Thanks. I am going to try a new sensor. What surprised me is that I got no indication of a low battery. That is really what made me question if it might be something else.

    Strange Wireless Behaviour

This one seems a little odd: I have an Elk M1 Gold, in addition to wired sensors I am using a GE-Caddx receiver. For one door I am using one of these wireless sensors (NX-458): GE NX-458 @ AO What I had seen was that it would occasionally trip, when there was no change to the door. I have...

    Elk/ISY/Insteon question

Thank you all. This makes sense and is exactly what I was missing. I was trying to control each unit individually. This is cleaner and actually works. Glad to take one more item off the list!

    Elk/ISY/Insteon question

Hello all. Quick question I was not able to find the answer to in the forums: I have an Insteon inlinelinc controlling some book shelf lighting. That is linked to a key on a KeypadLinc (not the main load of course). I have the lights go on via Elk Rules at night. The Insteon lighting is...

    ELK-M1DBH, M1XIN, M!XRF in attic?

I thought I heard of other people doing exactly this (in fact I had considered the same, although the heat issue does make sense). Since my bedrooms are all ont he second floor, running something like this would make it much easier to add additional sensors for automation (doors/closets/etc) in...

Still having problems with ELK M1 and rc80b thermostats

On the reboot: Check how tight it is secured. The snap in attachment of the face to the base might be the culprit there (something I wonder if they improved in the newer model). You also might want to call them. I remember I had to call them for something, and I was very impressed with how...

    Double Hung Anderson 400 Windows

I recently had to replace two windows due to leaks and improper installation originally. I had drilled them to put recessed wireless sensors in them. I replaced them with Anderson 400 Double Hung windows. Anderson 400 Window These seem to be able to support the mounted wireless sensors, except...

How do I connect Global Cache GC-100 with IR-100 connecting block and URC MRF-260 RF/IR receiver?

I've done Xantech with Tivo (with a zoned setup and eyes in the various bedrooms). I have a global cache setup but have not installed it. If you have multiple Tivo's, you can assign ID's to them with the remotes so they can both receive the same signals but it will know which one you are trying...

    SH and Insteon

If someone sends you an email, unless you have some form of NDA, you can do what you want with it. I am sure there are exceptions, but I don't think this is one of them. Also note the portion of the sentence that reads "by anyone other than the intended recipient is nauthorized and unlawful."...

    Options for HK Audio

That is great to hear. I had not looked into the other systems in some time and thought they had speaker wire to the volume control/keypads. One less thing to worry about.

    Options for HK Audio

I realized the other day that my current multi-room setup (a Harmon Kardon proprietary setup from an AVR 525 and using their 8 channel amp and keypads) will eventually break (may not be for awhile but eventually it will die). Unfortunately I did not wire this in an ideal fashion and was...

Elk sending temperature to RC-80B - HAI Thermostat?

That would be cool, but I suspect no. I think you can setup a remote temperature sensor but it is for the internal temp (to ideally place the temperature sensor when the thermostat may be elsewhere). I don't think it has a means of displaying a separate temperature (as it does not have a way to...
