ELK Products, Inc. has released M1 firmware upgrade version 5.3.0 and the M1XRFTW firmware upgrade version 1.2.50.
The versions have been tested by UL and will start shipping in new production M1's and M1XRFTW Two Way RF Transceivers. This upgrade includes enhancements for the ELK-6050 Two...
It is possible that you have built up a big static charge. Try touching some metal before touching the keypad to see if that is the problem. You can remove the metal band from the keypad or ground the metal band on the M1KP. This can redirect a large static charge away.
If the application software in the M1XRF2H is getting erased, the most likely culprit is the microprocessor. It probably has some silicon error internally that is making it go nuts.
The M1XEP Ethernet Module has had a great deal of work done to it also. It is in the testing phase.
You have always had the ability to do other things with all the keyfob's buttons using Rule Programming. You assign the button functions with ELKRP in the Wireless Programming Section. ...
The next software update to the M1, Version 5.3.0, and ELKRP, Version 2.0.20, is in beta test. UL has finished testing the latest M1 software along with the M1XRFTW Two Way Transceiver and the ELK-6050 Two Way Smoke Detector. The ELK-6050 Smoke Detector adds a key product to the ELK Two Way...
You can just use two 30 watt speakers instead of the self contained siren version. The M1 has a siren driver built-in to directly drive speakers from output 1 or output 2. The M1 will not have to have an additional power supply to drive two speakers and some smoke detectors.
The nice thing...
Elk does not pay for any product placement. It just happens! Cathy Bissell must have a M1 in her house. The TV commercial was seen by an Elk engineer this weekend and he also found it on Youtube.
I have not been on Cocoontech much in the last year or so. I have been working on 900 Mhz. two...
We received this link to a Bissell Vacuum TV commercial that has the M1 Keypad mounted on the wall at the very beginning of the commercial. Don't blink or you will miss it.

The Elk-6020 has the longest range. The Elk-6022 is a close second on the range. The Elk-6021 has a much shorter range due to the small battery and limited power output.
Metal surfaces will affect range. Space the transmitter off any metal surfaces especially the Elk-6021 since its antenna...
Several programming items could cause your problem:
Check to see if the garage zone has been set for cross zoning. If set for cross zoning, you have to have another cross zone to trip before the alarm goes off.
Make sure the swinger zone lockout is not set.
Make sure exit 2 time is not set...
If you notice the screen, the text is in the middle of the screen as if it was computer imposed on the keypad. I understand April 29th is the show date.

Windows 8 secure connections for ELKRP are in the process of being updated. The next ELKRP software update will have Windows 8 secure connections included.
kxcntry99,
This sounds like a RS-485 data bus problem.
If you are seeing the * disappear, then the processor on the keypad could be resetting. Check to make sure you have over 12.5 volts at the 12V power connections on the keypad.
Check to make sure Data A on the M1 connects to Data A on...
