Glad you fellas are getting some use outta it. It will be nice is HS comes thru with the CD but at least this way I already have a backup CD (well 2 actually I'm paranoid).
Here is a simple utility I wrote to download all the files available for HS 1.7, this was before Rich announced the CD. It's very basic so should be self expainatory.
With 3 loads and 4 rockers you could have one rocker for each load and one rocker left over. That could be your "Master Control". It could send one link to control them all and in the darkness bind them, err sorry. I've thought of this for a similiar setup in my living room.
I had a bad noise problem with UPB once. I had some halogen lights plugged into a UPB lamp module. When I dimmed the lamp module it would dump tons of noise on the line. FInally I got a X10 filter, plug the lights into the filter and the filter into the lamp module. No more noise problem...
Could the power company have used a backup generator or standby generator that didn't have clean power like the normal power plant ? Just thinking "out loud" here.
My UPB instillation died last weekend, nothing was working. UPstart didn't find any noise just couldn't find any devices. Finally found out a UPS had tripped when the power went out but when the juice came back on it was sucking all the UPB signals. I replaced the UPS and all is well again...
Now that you mention it I noticed that too. I used partition magic on 2 seperate machines and the task manager is now hosed. Any good (easy) ideas on how to get it back to XP default ?
even tho the wings are off he should put in some stakes and tie it down, airplanes by design are very light. I'd also hang some red tape off the prop. Some idiots will sue for their own stupid actions.
Are the "In Range / Out of Range" values stored in non-volatile memory? IE if the power goes out do they have to be resent to the conroller or will they be remembered ?
$500 for the pocket door version. Air compressor extra. I'd be tempted to run a pipe from the garage to the closet to provide air pressure. It would be a lot quieter and you could use the compressor in the garage for other projects (TOOLS :) )
Does it have to have the whoosh/swoosh as it opens and closes too? :D
The pocket door is going to be the harder one to control. I've seen those in hospitals for handicapped but nothing that would look decent or be easy to install for the home market.
Gerry: I've looked at your schematic for the 12 sensor version. I don't understand how the serial interface allows them to be hooked up this way. I thought RS232 was idle high. When one sensor tried to pull the line low won't the diode prevent this ?
I know I'm missing something so want to...
I still use HS 1.7 because it does everything I need. I bought HS2 upgrade insurance but never installed it. I will some day. But I do want to be able to re-install 1.7 if I ever need to. I know I can make an image of my HD with ghost or such but I'm not sure that is going to be the best way...
I have mine running Debian linux with KDE. Runs fine. Only problem is I have a DVB card that is full height. I'll have to cut the case to get the anntenna cable connected, can' t put the cover back on properly either. Other than those issue this will run my apps just fine.
APRS is what got me re-interested in HAM. Had an old tech license I renewed then upgraded to Extra class. It's addictive like home automation.
I use APRS to keep track of my kids car. I can call the HS server and it will give me a general idea of where the car is. When I have a PC handy I...
Mine is a little noisy from the PSU fan. There is only one HDD 5 1/4" bay. You would have to take the floppy out and use a 3 1/2" drive. You will need a new ide cable as the one's in there are single drive only. Also the ide cable will need to be longer than normal as the 5 1/4 drive bay is...
