    Hows your experiance with Bitwise?

Believe me, it's not about being spiteful to DIYs. If my last post came off that way, that was not my intention. As a matter of fact, I (like a lot of other people) am a DIY myself in a lot of areas (home improvement, etc), and would probably be in this field as well, if I didn't work in it...

    Hows your experiance with Bitwise?

Actually, if you look again, I have answered every support question that has been asked on our HomeSeer board, the last one of which was in October. The only thread since then was not a support question, and it was already answered by another user before I got there (I get daily email alerts if...

    Hows your experiance with Bitwise?

    1. We will no longer be selling the BC4X1 to non-dealers 2. If the unit were to fail within the one year warranty period, we would of course repair or replace it. 3. No 4. Firmware updates are posted on our downloads page. There is more to making a unit "Pro" than just the firmware. Existing...

    Hows your experiance with Bitwise?

jlegault, I totally understand your frustration about your situation, and I apologize for it. But if you look back at my previous response, you'll see that I specifically stated that I was not accusing you personally of "shady" intentions. Since everything you purchased came from HomeSeer, that...

    Hows your experiance with Bitwise?

While I wasn't party to whatever dialog you had with our team, I think I can shed a little light on the reason for the HomeSeer situation/ confusion. When we initially launched our product, we thought it would be a good fit for the DIY market. As time moved forward, we added additional features...

device that will play audio when it is powered up?

A number of years ago I used one for a county Nature Center. I installed it and a pushbutton inside a rock speaker. they wanted it to tell about turtles when you pushed the button. As I recall, it sounded pretty decent. Good enough for turtle-talk, at least.

    automating a fog machine?

I played with a fog machine one year (not automated) and it seems like remember the thing having to run for a minute or two before fog would come out. Not sure if that was just that particular model (no idea what it was), but it might be worth taking into consideration.

Dan, thanks for checking out the protocol. We've spent a lot of time and energy making it powerful and easy to use. Regarding xAP, it's something I'm keeping an eye on, though there are no definite plans for implementing it at this time.

BitWise Controls Announces Plans to Begin Shipping BC4

Just as a heads-up, the Command Protocol documentation is now available from the support section our website. It should give a pretty decent idea of how a host system interacts with the BC4.

BitWise Controls Announces Plans to Begin Shipping BC4

BSR: Thanks for your interest, and the welcome. The ADCs on the BCX-1 GPIOs are 10-bit, with a 0-12VDC range, so the range of digital values is 0-1023. Another One: While we don't have specific plans for any PDA apps at this time, our command protocol is extremely powerful, and the...

BitWise Controls Announces Plans to Begin Shipping BC4

We believe that the BC4/BCX-1 combination offers some significant advantages over the GC-100-12. From an IR perspective, the BCX-1 module includes an extensive on-board IR database which allows control of a huge number of devices with very little effort from the user. It also has an IR learner...

    Serially controllable power strip...

I would think that a serial controlled powerstrip could be pretty usefull in a few situations. If the current monitoring works well, It could be a nice way to verify on/off status of a rack or cabinet full of AV gear. Depending on the price, it could be a good way to de-TOAD some equipment.
