    GC-100 Issues

FYI, It is $35 flat fee for all units sent in, I think max of 10 at a time.  I had bought 5 used off of ebay, and sent all 5 in for total cost of $35.

Water flow switch - shower to control ceiling fan

I do something a little simpler. I put a wireless door sensor at the top of the glass door, not very noticeable to most. Wrote program for Omnipro to turn on exhaust fan when "ready". Then to turn off 5 minutes after "not ready". We leave the door open when not used.

    Fingerprint access control for daycare

Our Daycare uses a wall mounted touchscreen w/ individually assigned codes. It logs the kid in/out and messages for the parents are displayed on it. Then it triggers the door strike to release. Not sure what the software is. But a quick google search shows there's quite a few programs...

Help laying out system - Commercial

For my office, I have an old receiver that I connected to a Niles VCS HUB8 which then distributes the audio to about 6 pairs of speakers. I use Phoenix Gold VMT100 volume controls in each room so I can turn down the volume if needed. I have my receiver next to a PC and stream an internet radio...

Anyone using Next Alarm with a HAI C3 as backup?

From my experience I was not able to get it to work. The C3 would constantly use the SIM card instead of sending it through the ABN. When I would remove the SIM card, then it would utilize the ABN. I had checked all connections and HAI couldn't help troubleshoot and said it could only be used...

    Size Matters! (UPB Switches)

I am having the same problem, which made me temporarily stop my UPB installation. They can almost squeeze in, so I was thinking I may be able to trim off those curved edges on one or both sides to allow it to fit, then tape the edges the prevent anyone getting cut. As you can tell, I am also...

Forgive me if I'm completely green on this subject - irrigation

Thanks for clarifying. I'll give it a look this weekend. This can help me procrastinate with CQC even more

Forgive me if I'm completely green on this subject - irrigation

I also use a Rain8Net w/ serial connection. I had my landscaper bring the wires into the basement and then we hooked up everything directly. Currently I'm using the standard version of McsSprinklers w/ plans of eventually transitioning to jkish's templates in CQC. The limitations of...

upgrading from 'well water' to 'municipal water'

The house we tore down had a well. When we rebuilt we connected to city water but kept the well. City said we should do what the county tells us, and the county told us to do what the city told us....so we kept it. Our well was old and producing a lot of iron (stains), so I have the well...

Controlling New Comcast Box with Secu-ir

I was going to add two of mine in this weekend with the USBUIRT. Did you connect this by connecting the emitters out of the back of the UIRT? Or did you connect a 3.5mm cable directly into the IR in port on the DTA boxes?

OPII beep with loss of phone line

I had the same issue when I had it hooked up to my VOIP service. I ended up getting the ABN router to connect to NextAlarm and have no issues now. I didn't want to turn off the notification as it's important to know if someone was trying to cut the line.

    Water Cooler recommendations

I've gone through a few and found that most are poorly built and some break down sooner than others. I end up buying mine through costco, usually for around 150 or so. When it breaks, I exchange it for a new one, with their lifetime policy. I have the Vitapur one right now and works well...

Video and Audio Distribution Design Help

That AB3.2 is nice. I have installed a SRM2.1 from Russound (http://www.russound.com/srm2.1.htm) which requires a 12v trigger from the CAV system. Problem with it is my Compoint intercom doesn't trigger the switch, so I had to install their small 1 gang speaker. I may get this AB3.2 and...

Anyone interested in all in one counter top touchscreen units?

The one of mine that keeps rebooting is the Seapoint w/ Whizpro. First noticed it when trying to access Windows Security Center, and then happens randomly w/ IE. I could see heat being an issue as my fans aren't working great. XP SP2 is installed. Other one is of the other type, and is...

Anyone interested in all in one counter top touchscreen units?

Thanks. I had finally figured it out. I routed a second cable down as well. My 2 units seem to be different. One is much older, louder, has a 40 GB 3.5 drive, 512 RAM and fans don't work very well. Having the same reboot issues when on IE and when trying to update XP (I have a SP1 disc)...

Anyone interested in all in one counter top touchscreen units?

This may be a silly question. How do I connect my CD drive to this thing? I can't get to the IDE cable, it is buried in there behind the hard drive. Do I take the bezel off and remove the screen to get to the guts of this thing? Thanks

Multiple Audio outputs from single PC to CAV66?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try JRMC first with my onboard audio, just waiting to get the right adapters to connect 3.5 mm to RCA plugs. If that doesn't work, I think I"ll get the Delta 1010 card. I haven't found anywhere that Casatunes integrates with CQC and that is a priority for...

Setting up rooms in PC Access

You'll need to program each UPB device through Upstart and any associated links first. Then you can go into PC Access and use the assigned numbers given in UpStart to find and name the zones in the Units section and Links in the Scenes section.
