Hey grogs, where is there documention for the ElkM1 User attributes? I've read the manual. could well have missed it. why? I've found that the 'Master' attribute changes how one arms the keypad & via Home Assistant. A quick search here wasn't helpful. and again I could have muffed that.

Elk 2-way wireless sensors with wired input

Hi folks, I'm planning on installing a 2nd elk system in our 2nd home/cabin. Our first Elk was installed in our proper home during an extensive remodel about a decade ago; I'm sure I posted more often then! I integrated the Elk with our Vantage lighting and a mess of Axis smart cameras via a...

    Elk M1 Reset

What are the types of things which would cause our M1 to do a reset on it's own?   it's on a house circuit w/other computer equipment, but has its own APC UPS. Behind the UPS is the M1 and an expansion case, each with its own battery and power supply.   the other equipment didn't trip, nor did...

    Elk 120 / 124 Voice Modules & the M1

From reading the installation instructions it appears that these units can't be used in conjunction with the existing audio output from an M1.   Am I missing something?

    ION Plungers and Raspberry Pi

HI Grogs,   have any of you tried to integrate ION plungers to a Raspberry Pi ( via a some receiver of course )   I have a handful of the ION plungers installed and am pretty happy with them. Walk-Through level announcements, observed behavior

I am looking at a transmitter loss log alert and decided to try the walk-through with level announcements.   I find a handy keypad, do Elk -> 3 and start a walk through.   I go to the reported lost transmitter, and trigger it by opening the door. I get the announcement that the zone is open, and...

    Reality Check: HDMI voltages

HI crew.   I've just finished chatting with a service rep from Denon about a new issue in our AVR. The issue is that we've been getting frame drops, and sometimes multi minute video cut-outs, in our video. Audio is fine.   The service rep is telling me that this is probably due to a voltage drop...

    Nest and Weave

Here at today's Google I/O keynote there were interesting hints about Brillo and Weave.   However the scheduled sessions have almost no information - and the Nest talk I just attened was 60% marketing pitch 'to hype you up' and then a small tour of JSON exchanges. feh.   Weave looks like a...

MyQ Garage Door 'monitor' - Hackable?

HI Crew   We picked up a MyQ garage door monitor for our main entrance. It's nice enough, allowing us to see if the overhead door has been left open and closing it if we wish.   What we can't understand is why the same device isn't designed to open the door as well.   Some of you folks have been...

    Waterproofing Tane mini pills

I have a window which isn't aparently well thermally isolated, and as a result builds up a fair amount of condensation. The condensation is enough to pool at the bottom of the window framing. Where our alarm sensors are. I believe the water has caused the M1 to go nuts more than once.   Until I...

    Harmony Home Hub

I am shopping around looking at these Harmony remotes and have come across their Home Hub offering.   It looks like another gateway to cloud play, which I generally dislike, but I haven't been able to find out much about it.   what I would like to know are things like   straightforward HTTP web...

    Elk Alarm time-out

HI Folks,   Last week we had an incident where it looks like someone wiggled the back patio doors hard enough to trigger the magnetic sensor. This is run to an Elk M1, which dutifully commenced to sound the siren and all associated things. Nothing bad happened other than the duitiful neighbors...

Elk Protocol - zt command functional?

Hi Folks.   I just started exploring the Elk M1 'zt' command. There was a bit of a mention of it over in Automation, and I had a few moments to take it out for a spin.   it was, for me, a short trip.   when I ( programmatically, via a one-shot timer ) send     E: setting timeout function Elk...

HI Folks,   My parents are snowbirds and leave their small house for a few months every year. The house is in a pretty small town in western ny. Simpleminded questions about Elk M1XEP

I have a couple of simple minded questions about the Elk M1XEP.   It's on my net and I'm happily using ElkRP to configurate unto the M1. All good.   I'm coming to conclude that it's not capable of handling more than one connection at a time.   >>> that's my question. Can the Elk M1XEP handle...
