While I have never heard of 2gigtechnologies before, the company was founded by 2 Honeywell employees (Lance Dean and Scott Simon), which makes this story rather interesting. It looks like this new company is working on several new projects, using Z-Wave hardware. Some of the things they are working on:
- SuperSwitch: allow a Z-Wave compatible panel to use existing hardwired sensors. Sounds like a Z-Wave version of the old X-10 PowerFlash, but hopefully with much more security.
- GoControl: their wireless security system.
- Partnership with T-Mobile: allow 2-way voice through GSM, and remote firmware upgrades.
