    Leviton vizia rf... Sticky switches?

Haven't noticed that on mine. I had one where the dimmer control had to be pressed pretty hard to get it to recognize, so I RMAd it for another one. If all of them stick, them maybe its just some weird way your are pressing them.

    ZWave Zone Controller Programming Details

I finally got my leviton programmer, so I can answer some of these questions now. Yes, you can have a switch assigned to multiple zones. I haven't verified exactly how the controller marks the zone, but I believe as long as one light is on, the zone should show as "on". I think with the...

CFL Bulbs Flicker When "OFF" Upstairs but Not Downstairs?

Ya, its strange cause I bought all the bulbs at the same ... oh well.

CFL Bulbs Flicker When "OFF" Upstairs but Not Downstairs?

The working ones are 3 and 5 each. The upstairs circuits are all 4 each. The box has a neutral. The dimmer just does not have a connection for it. At this point, I think the issue might be caused by bulb variation. I was able to switch out enough of the bulbs with ones of the same brand, that...

CFL Bulbs Flicker When "OFF" Upstairs but Not Downstairs?

Please help. I've tried to figure out whats going on but nothing seems to work. I have Leviton VPI06-1LZ dimmers upstairs and downstairs which do not connect to the neutral. Using the trick to add a 1.5k ohm resistor in parallel to the lighting circuit, the CFL bulbs work perfectly on three...

    Really? Another light switch?

XML .. you have got to be kidding me. Totally useless on an embedded system.

    ZWave Zone Controller Programming Details

Thanks for the responses. That clears up a lot. I realize adding a PC might give me more options, but for now I'm trying to keep it simple. I did think of one more question. Since I'm planning on buying multiple zone controllers. Can you associate the same zone (e.g. "KITCHEN") to two different...

    ZWave Zone Controller Programming Details

I'm planning on getting a zone controller for my Leviton VizaRF+ dimmers, but I want to clarify a few things first. I'll be using a Leviton VRCPG programmer, if it matters. 1) Can you assign a dimmer switch to more than one zone? For example, can I make a zone of "ALL" dimmers and then have...

Leviton Z-Wave Dimmers + CFL Safe?

Can anyone confirm that its OK to use CFL bulbs with the Leviton zwave dimmers? I plan on using CFLs for some of my lighting, but since the prices between the switch and dimmer version are basically the same, I want to get the dimmers for an upgrade path down the road. The leviton dimmers can...

You should get an IP power strip if you just need power control. Something like this, http://www.ubnt.com/mfi#mpowerpro

    LED Dimmers

What I think you need is an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer. See the VRE06-1LZ on this page http://www.tselectronic.com/shop/product/Leviton-Vizia-RF+-Z-Wave-Dimmers/978

    Ubiquiti is getting into Automation

This looks ok. What would really be interesting would be a line of cheap wireless sensors that could place anywhere, are battery powered, and can all be read by a PC over WiFi or using a USB bridge device. I'd really like a generic air sensor, and then add motion, light, power, etc after that.

How far should I go with my Home Automation?

Guys, I think all this stuff is really cool, but I'm stuck on figuring out if I need a $500 controller or just something more basic. I've decided to try out the Leviton Vizia RF+ hardware since I've heard good things about it. What I want to achieve right now, is to simply define a few zones...
