Connecting two sprinkler controllers to one system

Thanks BraveSirRobbin. Using the Palm Pad remote is another option. I have a few of those. As for bypassing the internal Rain8 clock, I would keep the RAIN8 connected to the sprinkler setup 99% of the time by switching the common sprinkler controller wire to the RAIN8.

Connecting two sprinkler controllers to one system

I searched the web but could not find an answer to my question. Perhaps someone could help me out with this one. I purchased a serial RAIN8net and expansion module. I have an existing Rainbird controller in my garage and would like to keep this connected as well so the sprinkler company can...

Mini-review: Distributed Audio using ESS modules

Mark S. I emailed Ray and promptly received this reply to having the ESS with existing volume controls: ******************* Sonny, Two possible problems. 1. ALL autotransformers load the amplifier more at low frequencies than higher. A typical 50 watt autotransformer will only pass 6-10...

Mini-review: Distributed Audio using ESS modules

I think that would work as long as you set the volume controls to 1X if they have a multiplier jumper. This would simulate one pair at the usually 4-8 ohms. The only problem I think is that your volume may be reduced going through two volume controls. Please feel free to email Ray at...

Mini-review: Distributed Audio using ESS modules

After a lot of research of trying to find the best multi room audio distribution system I have come across a solution that works perfectly for my needs that I'd like to share with you. I looked at ABus as well as other solutions but did not like the costs and I wanted something that I could...

    NextAlarm ABN

I too am waiting for the Osborne-Hoffman receiver. I'm just about ready to signup. Is there any great advantage of getting the ABN or can I just use my plain old telephone line for now until the Osborne-Hoffman receiver is available?

ELk Weigand Reader - extending length to keypad

The total length came to about 75 feet (was not a straight run). I used CAT5 and the same wiring as the data hub. It worked perfectly. Thanks.

How to define a "deadbolt zone"?

Interesting thought politics123. I'm not sure how one would do this and make sure that it does not get demagnetized. I found this article: Making a permanent magnet however one comments after that they demagnetize easily. One would hate that to happen and set off the alarm. But nice idea...

How to define a "deadbolt zone"?

Thanks for the comments. Sandpiper gets credit for this one in this thread a year ago: http://www.cocoontech.com/index.php?showtopic=4290 I only have had the setup running for a few months and I don't know how much abuse the plungers will take. I did buy another set just in case. Also, I...

ELk Weigand Reader - extending length to keypad

I have an ELK Slim keypad (ELK-M1KP2) and the ELK UltraProx Weigand Reader (ELK-106055) for proximity cards. I see that the maximum wire distance between these two units is ten feet. I would like to put the reader outdoors at the side garage door (non overhead) and keep the keypad behind the...

How to define a "deadbolt zone"?

I set my system up with these a few months ago and it's working to my satisfaction (got the idea somewhere on this board). For each deadbolt I ordered one of these (i.e. window plunger sensor): GRI PBF2020WH 3/8" PUSH-BUTTON, ADJUSTABLE SCREW PLUNGER W/FLANGE, CLOSED LOOP, WHITE from here...
