Are those Sage extenders kinda customizable? I mean I want to add my own menu's and maybe write my own plugins, but I found a SDK but Im not sure about the extenders... And is it possible to connect some sort of USB or serial port to the new HD extenders? This would be GREAT to connect a cheap...

As far as I know its fine with unplugging monitors while the PC is switched on. If you are not happy with the arrangement of your screens you can always physicly move them or just drag them around in your Desktop Properties

I am just looking around for a simple solution for some basic commands from a central panel. I don't really want to use a power eating PC behind it, so terminal are pretty good solutions for that (if you have a server for it that is).
