Bitter? Wow, you guys are doing better than I am. I'm still at absolutely furious. I wish I was just bitter. Btw, I don't get the Q either.

Very impressive, looks great! Congradulations. You need to get replace that old, plastic letter sign though. High tech sign for a high tech store!

    UPB switches in metal boxes

Forgive me if I missed something, but (at least temporarily) couldn't you just use a double gang plate with only a single opening? It would allow you to get on with your UPB migration and not have a hole in the wall until you got around to drywall work. Something like this:

xda-develpers.com , A community of hackers (in the positive sense) that started out creating custom roms (firmware) for windows mobile phones. They have expanded into all things android. Tons of good information over there.

Please help Having a problem with Cooper dimmer Z-wave switch

Actually it could make a significant difference. You haven't mentioned what the load is, but if it is in a 5 gang box it would require significant de-rating (especially if the other switches are also dinners). It's very possible you are exceeding the rating of the switch.

    Android tablets

Personally, I'm thinking seriously about the Nook color. $250 and XDA already has a 2.2 rom available. I'll have to see what post x-mas brings in terms of sales.

Help me find a good & affordable generator transfer switch

Just a few things, for your reference: 1. (Most) home electrical systems are a single split phase (not two phases). 2. (Most) panels are set up in such a way that every other breaker vertically is on opposite sides of the phase (which is how, when you have a two pole breaker (eg. dryer, range)...

    More LED bulb options

If you do get them, you might think about getting some colored gels instead of swapping the lamps in and out. Easier, and as a side benefit you get the energy savings all year long.

    More LED bulb options

Color temp would be important info for me in choosing a bulb/device.

'Old Work'/Retrofit Low Voltage Boxes - Preferences?

Drywall or Plaster/lath? If Plaster then definitely plastic. If drywall then either would work. Personally I prefer the plastic versions as I never seem to bend the metal wings tightly enough to keep them from wiggling (plus, in my limited experience, I've found the edges have a tendency to be...

Aloha! New member here, lots of Zwave questions.

Just realize that this might also be against code. Code dictates that certain rooms must have EITHER a central ceiling fixture or a switched outlet that can be controlled from the entry point(s) of the room so that it is not necessary to walk into a dark room and possibly injure yourself...

Green, wet behind the ears, newbie, call it what you want

Firstly, I would suggest discarding the idea of a HAL style automation system right now. It will cloud your opinion of Home Automation forever. We are a LONG way away from the days of "hey computer, Turn on lights a, b and c in x minutes, start the hot tub in y minutes and have z playing on the...

    More INSTEON quality control issues!

Congratulations. However, I was not directing my response to you. It was directed to the person who asked about insteon. You gave your opinion, I gave mine. Not sure why you felt the need to come back into the conversation, but shall i come back with all of my DOCUMENTED insteon failures...

    More INSTEON quality control issues!

I'm attempting to become a less critical, less negative person, so all I will say is RUN. Run far, run fast.

    Prewire w/ Spray Foam Insulation

If the OP does go this route, depending on location, I would strongly recommend looking into a radiant barrier first.
