    Elk M1G "serial exp trbl"

Hello. I've got several issues I'm dealing with. It's been years since I've needed to work with my elk system and rp2 software. My old pic crashed and I lost my rp2 database file. Currently my keypad is displaying "Serial exp trbl" not sure what went wrong but I'm not sure how to diagnose.

    UPB wring question

I am installing some SA switches right now. There seems to be 2 ways to wire a standard light. where the power runs to the switch first then on to the light OR where the power runs to the light and a switch leg runs down to the switch. I am dealing with the "switch leg" type. The "Standard...

Another good question is.....How secure is that port? Is the rest of my home network at risk?

ELKRP & eKeypad over the internet

I recently opened port 2601 on my router. I was able to reconfigure iphone/ekeypad app to connect over the internet. Very cool. I then thought...why don't I try to open the java page on my m1xep. I can't get to it...? Is there some additional config that I need to do to the panel?

    ELKM1 / UPB / Upstart Implementation

Work2Play, You are the best. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge! So the PIM should be configured to use and address under 192 as well... right? I thought I was being smart and put it at 250 to get it out of the way if my switches! haha. I'm a dummy!

    ELKM1 / UPB / Upstart Implementation

Thats definitely got somthing to do with it! (hopefully). I'll check it out when I get home. What about the device id of the switches? The device # in ELKRP should just match the upstart device# right?

    ELKM1 / UPB / Upstart Implementation

Yes, I added switches under lighting. Using the same device number as set up in upstart. I also set the global "UPB lighting network address" to be the address for the PIM in upstart. Correct?

    ELKM1 / UPB / Upstart Implementation

Hey Guys. I've installed the PIM to the ELKM1 panel. Registered the device. Installed 2 light SA light switches. Downloaded and installed Upstart. Used Upstart to configure the 2 switches. Upstart has also found the PIM. OK. I can control the switches with upstart but not through the...

    Lighting control ELKM1PCSPIM

I do not have a 30amp or 50amp outlet in my house. Do they make a plug in phase coupler for a 20amp outlet?

    Lighting control ELKM1PCSPIM

Is there anyway to know if you will need a phase coupler ahead of time?

    Lighting control ELKM1PCSPIM

I recently purchased the ELKM1 PCSPIM and a bunch of Simply Automated UPB Transceivers. I installed one switch and I am realizing that I cannot configure all of this with the Elk alone. Is this correct? I don't know why I thought I would be able to. Do I need to comfigure my devices seperately...
