I wrote some code using the SDK to announce the message when the zone was tripped. I figured i would bypass the automation completely.
The message still wasn't announced. I debugged my way through the code and saw that it was running as expected. I also found though was that if...
I've got a doorbell zone that has automation associated with it to say a message when it is tripped. It is normally closed, with a status of SECURE. My automation code from PC Access is simple:
WHEN doorbell NOT READY
THEN SAY Visitor At Front Door
The message is never said. It used to...
ya, not sure about the jingle tone, but what i really think is cool is that you can have calls ring your cell phone at the same time as it rings the house phones, and you can pick up either.
right now i've got call forwarding set up on my comcast digital voice sending it to my new phone...
sigh...
i received the ooma today and hooked it up. everything seems pretty cool. only thing i found was that i had to wire it as the first thing on the network, otherwise call quality was horrible. So, the cable modem runs to the ooma, and from the ooma to my router, and then throughout...
thanks...
my comcast cable/modem box is an Arris TM822. it would be interesting to know if you or anyone else has this model, or what other models people are using.
i cannot get fios unfortunately.
What else do people use for home phone that works with the OPII?
Thx,
Chris
i cannot get to the panel by pressing #.
My comcast cable modem/voip box issue is interesting. this is the 3rd one. The first one i had worked just fine with the OPII, except it started having internet connectivity problems. I swapped it out, and my internet problems went away but i...
i can hear the clicks from the panel, both when i pick up a phone in the house and press "talk" and when i trigger an event to call out.
when the event triggers to call out, the voltage across red/green (incoming phone) drops to about 6v and the voltage across brown/grey (outgoing to phones...
when the phone is on hook about 49.5v DC across the Green and Red terminals
when the phone is off hook (press talk for a dial tone), it measures about 15v DC across the Green and Red terminals
i run wires directly from the comcast cable modem /voip box directly to the alarm panel. i used a...
so i worked on this again today. my setup right now is this:
comcast cable modem with voice ==> hai panel (red, green wires).
and that is is. i did a fresh cut of a telephone wire and made sure i only grabbed the green and red (cut away the black and yellow). the jack goes into the...
ok, I figured it out. well, "figuring it out" would be strong. Really, I flipped enough stuff around to make it work again :)
i swapped the two wires coming in from the doorbell, and that did the trick. Not sure when/why they were "backwards", unless i messed with them a few months back...
More information ... i discovered that if i actually disconnect one of the wires on the panel to create the "NOT READY" status, the message is said on the whole house audio system. the loop reading in dealer access is 254 in either NOT READY case (when i push the doorbell and when i disconnect...
