    Premise Premise and RFXCom

It looks like that device uses an USB to rs232 converter chip, so I would think you would communicate to as you would a normal serial port in Premise. For the most part, unless you write native drivers in c++, writing drivers in premise is not really what you are thinking, a lot of stuff is...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

Thanks for the sample code 123. I finally found some time to watch the 2 way serial video tutorial and took a look at the Integra driver. Everything I need to do seems to be pretty straightforward the video was really good. I do have one more question though - is there a sending equivalent of...

    Premise flac playback?

Awesome thanks I thought that might be the case. I typically use winamp or foobar for playback so I don't usually need to worry about additional codecs.

    Premise flac playback?

I just watched the mSense instructional video and was really impressed so I've been trying to get it working. I have all my music ripped on a hard drive primarily in .flac format, but some in .mp3. I added the directory and after adding the .flac extension premise recognized all my files. My...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

Heh you are definitely right 123 it is very convoluted and I would like to do it all in Premise, it was a kind of quick way to get everything working since I am rather unfamiliar with vbscript and premise. My GC-100 just came in today too and I am busy putting in IR codes for my TV and DVR. What...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

Thanks for the tip etc6849. I would probably use serial except my receiver does not have a serial port, just ethernet. I wrote a quick script in python to accept a TCP packet and transfer the data into a UDP packet which goes to eventghost. Eventghost is now seeing the udp packets coming over...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

Hm yes it seems to work when I send things directly to the receiver. With the UDS10 pointed at the onkyo I can send discrete power on and off commands. The reason I wanted to send it to the computer itself is because I found an evenghost plugin that is already setup to send commands and...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

I am having trouble with the fake UDS10 to send network packets. Just to try things out I made a serial receiver and put 'hello' into the power toggle rs232 command. I have a UDS10 that is set to the IP address of the computer that premise is running on with a port of 20000. The UDS10 is bound...

Premise premise generic ipsc over tcip plug in?

Sorry to bump an old thread but I was wondering if anyone ever had any success with ISCP over ethernet? I have an onkyo receiver that I would love to use ethernet control with.

    Premise considering premise, couple questions

As far as I know iRule does not have the ability to parse strings. However if you really wanted to do it like that I'm sure you could throw in some intermediate script that would parse out the relevant information and send just that part up to iRule.

    Premise considering premise, couple questions

I'm just looking into all this stuff as well 123 but I believe you are correct about the URL on an entrance or link. You could also put a dedicated button that would poll all your light's states and update a page with the info

    Premise considering premise, couple questions

Thanks for the response 123. I had originally planned to run everything through premise so that I would have state information and the ability to do logic for everything but the more I think about it the more I like the more loosely coupled system you described where I only use logic for things...

    Premise considering premise, couple questions

Hello everyone, I am new here and to the world of home automation and I am strongly considering using Premise for the brains behind my condo. Premise seems like a well hidden gem in the HA world, and while small the community here looks extremely helpful. I wanted to come here and make sure it...
