How can I test these rules....

I made a few rules to change outputs so my ISY would send me notifications. The first rule was for the loss of AC Power. I unplugged the ELK transformer and got the notification. The remaining few rules I can't figure out how to test. Can you guys help?

-Battery trouble.

-Ethernet trouble

-Communication trouble.

How can I test those rules? Thanks!

On the battery one, I left the Elk transformer plugged in and unplugged the battery but the output didn't change. I thought for sure that would be a good way to test it. Any other ideas?

Assuming you made the rule just like the ac power rule they should work. For the battery test you need to wait 24 hours for the next automatic test or manually test the battery by going to the settings -> system tests menu and selecting battery test. After you plug the battery back in you will need to run the test again to clear the low battery trouble.

Thanks for the reply! I opened Elk RP and I don't see settings or system tests. Where is this at specifically in the Elk RP? Thanks again!

You would need to use the keypad to access menu 8 system settings. I don't have an Elk so I'm not sure if you can access it from Elk RP.

So the battery trouble is different from the AC power trouble in that it doesn't change the output instantaneously? The AC power trouble rule changes the output right after I unplug the transformer. I would the the low battery trouble would do the same thing once it's unplugged.

No they are different. Have a look at the Elk install and user manuals. They outline how the battery check works.
