Flood / Spot light from 24' high

I am thinking about installing lights at the peak of one side of my house which is approx 24 feet to the ground - anyone else doing this from that height? What type of bulbs are you using?

You might consider the new led outdoor floods. Lumens at 24 feet can be figured out from the spec sheets on the various bulbs. How many lumens you need is based on what use you are putting the light to. Are you trying to read a book or just be able to see your dog?

But at 24 feet high, you will want a bulb that doesn't require replacement very often and that's where led is a good idea.

Thanks Lou - really just for security - I will have it on for motion.

Will check some specs for LED's .

Might have more of an issue with motion detectors at that distance. Hopefully someone will see your question who had a similar situation and can relate. But, spec sheets are a good place to start.

You'll probably need a 150watt halogen, or two if you want a lot of light.
LED's probably won't give you enough light unless you use a street light, around $ 300 each.
