CocoonTech.com _ Home Automation _ Not seeing an Insteon Group Broadcast

Posted by: MrGibbage Nov 4 2007, 02:26 PM

I posted this yesterday on the Powerhome Forum and it hasn't generated any responses. Hopefully I'll get some help here.

I am trying to set up a powerhome trigger on a switch to detect when it has been turn on/off. The switch is controller of two other remote switches (so I can monitor the light status on their LED), as well as a controller of the PLC so I am sure that messages make it to the PLC. When I turn the switch on and off, the LEDs on the other remotes do follow, so I know the links are set up correctly, and I do get group cleanup messages in the PH log, but no group broadcast messages. When I use the remote switches, I do get the group broadcast messages, and I have been able to set up triggers for them. Furthermore, I can control the switch in question from PH via the control button on the device tab of the insteon explorer, so I am sure the device ID is in the PLC. What can I do to detect switch presses on this switch? Is there something wrong with this switch?

Try setting up the switch in question as a controller of the PLC. Just put the switch into linking mode, then go to the PLC and hold the side button for 10 (as I remember - may be 3) seconds.

The switch is set up as a controller of the PLC. No joy.

I'm having the same problem. Did you get this problem resolved?

Just in case anybody else is a newbie like me:
1) In the Insteon Explorer's Setup tab, clear the PLM/PLC Database with the Clear button.
2) In the Insteon Explorer's Setup tab, add PowerHome's Insteon ID's back to the PLC/PLM by the "Add Min" or "Add Full button."
